WASHINGTON – Today ITI, the global voice of the tech sector, released the following statement from Andy Halataei, senior vice president of government affairs, calling on Congress to modernize the United States’ outdated immigration system after the cap on H-1B applications was reached this morning.

“Today is a perfect reminder of why the United States needs to fix its immigration system. For the sixth straight year, the arbitrary visa cap was reached within five business days, leaving employers and employees in an unnecessary limbo. It’s time for the administration and Congress to support common sense high-skilled immigration policies such as the I-Squared Act, which better reflects the demands of today’s digital economy while also securing protections for American workers.”
