WASHINGTON – ITI, the global voice of the tech sector, announced that it will co-chair the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) Task Force, convened by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and comprised of representatives from the IT and Communications sectors and the federal government. John Miller, Vice President of Policy and Law, will represent ITI as co-chair and serve on the Task Force’s executive committee. The first-of-its kind Task Force is a public-private partnership created to develop recommendations to help industry and government stakeholders more effectively identify and manage risks to the global ICT and federal government supply chains.

“Every day, increasingly sophisticated adversaries target the global ICT supply chains that produce essential products and services in our connected digital world. While ICT companies and government stakeholders have focused on managing supply chain risks for some time, the evolving threat of a malicious attack on these critical supply chains calls for increased attention by the public and private sectors.” John Miller said. “ITI thanks the Department for its continued leadership on this pressing issue and for bringing together a diverse and informed set of stakeholders to combat this shared cyber challenge. We look forward to working together with our colleagues from the communications sector and government partners to use the Task Force as a platform for developing proactive recommendations to complex supply chain security challenges .”

The conversation on supply chain risk management continues today, Friday, November 16, as ITI’s John Miller speaks on a panel at the event, “Critical Infrastructure Risk Management: A Path Forward” at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
