WASHINGTON – After nine years leading the tech industry’s preeminent global trade association, ITI President and CEO Dean Garfield announced he will leave the organization in February 2019 to start the next chapter of his career. Garfield will continue to lead ITI until then and will assist with the search for a new CEO.

“Working on behalf of the world’s most dynamic and innovative companies has exceeded my every expectation. From developing ITI’s global voice, to achieving favorable public policy outcomes in the United States and globally on consequential issues, and broadening our membership, I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished. None of this would have been possible without the leadership of ITI’s great team and our Board. While I am excited about what’s to come, my immediate focus is on ensuring a smooth transition at ITI that will make the next decade even more successful than the last,” said Garfield.

“For nearly a decade, Dean has represented the tech community in Washington and across the world with distinction,” said Jace Johnson, ITI’s Board Chair and Vice President of Government Affairs & Public Policy at Adobe. “We are grateful for his tireless efforts to build a dynamic organization and for bringing a collaborative and effective style to the tech policy world. As a Board, we will be setting up a search committee to identify the next leader of ITI who can build on Dean’s tremendous track record.”
